Things to see
There are so many things to see in the Turks and Caicos that you will be able to keep yourself busy exploring. Some of the top things to see include the following: Bird watching, Conch farm, Grad Turk lighthouse, Humpback whales, JoJo the Dolphin, The Hole, Middle Caicos Caves, the Rock Iguana, and more.
There are many islands, so where you stay may have effect where and what you choose to see. The islands are situated around the Turks Bank, which are limestone plateaus that lead into deep water. This makes it the perfect destination for seeking Humpback Whales, turtles, Eagle rays, Manta rays, and more. Not to mention, there is some great fishing for those who enjoy deep sea fishing for blue marlin, tuna, and Wahoo. Snorkelers and divers will love the coral reefs that line the islands, too.
Bird watchers will need to visit the inland marshes and salt ponds where the migratory and resident birds feed. This is a great place to see Terns, Egrets, Osprey, Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, and even Flamingoes! There are 12 small cays that are protected breeding grounds of the National Parks system so finding birds to watch is quite easy and very enjoyable for the naturist.
If you visit Great Sand Cay or Little Water Cay, then it will be impossible to miss the island iguanas. Despite being endangered, the iguana is easy to find on these deserted cays.
When you arrive at your hotel be sure to talk with the concierge about the various things to do and see that are available through your hotel. You will most likely be able to schedule tours and excursions right through your hotel and be able to explore as much of Turks and Caicos as you want during your vacation.
